Gianyar Regent I Made Agus Mahayastra announced that poverty rates\nhave declined during his administration\u2019s performance throughout 2025.\nThis was conveyed during a plenary session at the Gianyar Regency\nRegional Representative Council (DPRD) office.<\/p>\n
The plenary session was scheduled to hear the Regent\u2019s Report of\nAccountability (LKPJ) for the 2025 fiscal year. The poverty rate was\nreported to have decreased to 3.71 per cent, compared to 4 per cent in\n2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is lower than the national poverty rate of 8.25 per cent,\u201d said\nMahayastra on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Beyond poverty reduction, Mahayastra also discussed the decline in\nunemployment figures in Gianyar. He stated that the unemployment rate\nwas recorded at 1.98 per cent in 2024, declining to 1.55 per cent in\n2025, or approximately 5,036 persons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe unemployment rate has fallen from 1.98 per cent in 2024 to 1.55\nper cent in 2025,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mahayastra stated that the reduction in poverty and unemployment has\nspurred economic growth in Gianyar. Economic growth in the regency was\nrecorded at 5.89 per cent in 2025, an increase compared to 5.47 per cent\nin 2024.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Gini Index, which measures economic inequality and depicts the\nlevel of income inequality, has also shown improvement. It has declined\nfrom 0.29 in 2024 to 0.275 in 2025, which is classified as low\ninequality,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Gianyar Labour Force Agency, I Gede Suardana Putra,\nstated that the poverty rate percentage for 2026 is targeted not to\ndecline significantly, with a target reduction of only 1.50 per\ncent.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, the target is only around 1.50 per cent,\u201d said\nSuardana.<\/p>\n
He noted that efforts to reduce poverty include creating widespread\nemployment opportunities, ranging from job fairs to be held during\nGianyar Regency\u2019s anniversary in April 2026 to vocational training\nscholarships at 12 vocational training institutes (LPK) over a year-long\nperiod.<\/p>\n
Already, 380 participants have registered and been processed from a\nquota of 400 persons. They are provided with a sum of IDR 16 million per\nperson during free vocational training at the LPK.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are also providing mentoring to self-employed workers. So if\nresidents wish to establish MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises),\nwe will first provide guidance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The plenary session also outlined other performance indicators\nachieved throughout 2025, ranging from the Human Development Index (IPM)\nto the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) for\nGianyar Regency.<\/p>\n
In the regional finances sector, regional revenue in the 2025 fiscal\nyear budget was planned at IDR 3.291 trillion, with realisation reaching\nIDR 3.181 trillion, or 96.65 per cent of the target.<\/p>\n
This realisation came from Own-Source Revenue (PAD) of IDR 1.997\ntrillion, or 98.63 per cent of the target, and transfer revenue\nexceeding IDR 608 billion.<\/p>\n
\u201cMeanwhile, the realisation of regional expenditure reached IDR 3.306\ntrillion, or 77.46 per cent of the plan of IDR 4.268 trillion.<\/p>\n
On the regional financing side, financing receipts were realised at\nover IDR 324 billion and financing expenditure at over IDR 175 billion,\u201d\nhe continued.<\/p>\n
In education, the average length of schooling increased from 9.84\nyears in 2024 to 9.93 years in 2025, whilst the expected years of\nschooling reached 14.12 years. In healthcare, life expectancy increased\nto 76.14 years.<\/p>\n
In food security, the agriculture sector\u2019s contribution to GRDP\nreached 11.35 per cent, with a 3.9 per cent increase in marine and\nfisheries production, and food reserves at 164.98 per cent. The\nEnvironmental Quality Index also increased to 71.67 from the previous\n68.95.<\/p>\n
In bureaucratic reform, Gianyar Regency\u2019s SAKIP value increased to\n66.82.
