        "content": "<p>The word Qur\u2019an is mentioned seventy times in the Qur\u2019an. This was\nexplained by Muhammad Fuad Abd al-Baqi in Al-Mu\u2019jam al-Mufahras li\nAlfadh al-Quran. The term is used in various senses. According to the\nmajority of scholars, the word Qur\u2019an is a derivative (musyt\u0101q) of the\nword qara\u2019a, which means \u2018to gather\u2019, \u2018to study\u2019, and \u2018to read\u2019. From\nthis, the term al-Qur\u2019an is understood as \u2018recitation\u2019. The Qur\u2019an\nrefers to itself by several names. Among them is the Qur\u2019an itself\n(Surah al-Isra: 9). It also calls itself al-Kitab (Surah al-Anbiya: 10),\nal-Furqan (Surah al-Furqan: 1), adz-Dzikr (Surah al-Hijr: 9), and\nal-Tanzil (Surah ash-Shura: 129). From these names, al-Qur\u2019an and\nal-Kitab are the most popular among Muslims. This, according to Manna\nal-Qaththan in Mabahits fi \u2019Ulum Alquran, implies that in safeguarding\nand preserving the authenticity of the Qur\u2019an, Muslims must attend to\ntwo aspects simultaneously: recitation (al-qur\u2019an) and writing\n(al-kitab).
