Indonesian police traffic corps has implemented a national one-way traffic system on major toll roads to manage the peak return flow of vehicles following the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holidays, starting today at 2:00 PM WIB. The measure, flagged off by the National Police Chief and relevant ministers, applies from Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll to Km 70 of the Cikampek Utara Toll, anticipating up to 270,000 vehicles per day based on outbound peaks. This follows a trial run yesterday and aims to handle the increasing return traffic, with 43% already back in Jakarta.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps
(Korlantas Polri) has officially implemented a national one-way traffic
engineering system for the return flow of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holidays,
starting on Tuesday (24/3/2026). This policy is applied to anticipate
the surge in vehicles expected to peak in the coming days. Head of
Korlantas Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that the
national one-way system will begin at 2:00 PM WIB. The launch or
flag-off of this policy is scheduled to be led directly by National
Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo along with several related
ministers. He said that this traffic engineering will be enforced from
Km 414 of the Kalikangkung Toll to Km 70 of the Cikampek Utara Toll,
which is the main route for the return flow to Jakarta. The
implementation of the national one-way system is due to the high
potential of return traffic. Agus said that this is based on the
previous outbound peak which reached around 270,000 vehicles per day.
However, this figure is estimated to continue increasing in the coming
days. “Up to now, 43 percent have just returned to Jakarta, so we will
manage it well with the traffic engineering mechanism,” he said. As an
initial step, Korlantas has also conducted a gradual trial of traffic
engineering on Monday (23/3/2026), from Km 263 to Km 70 of the Cikampek
Utara Toll.
",
