        "content": "<p>German firms venturing RI<\/p>\n<p>FRANKFURT (DPA): German firms are taking advantage of bargain<br>\nprices to invest in Indonesia, with investments in the first half<br>\nof 1998 already having surpassed those for all of last year,<br>\nGerman Economics Minister Guenter Rexrodt said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>At a forum on German-Indonesian business relations, Rexrodt<br>\nsaid, first-half investments by German firms in Indonesia reached<br>\n131 million marks from the financially-hit Asian country.<\/p>\n<p>Rexrodt promised that Bonn would not shut off its official<br>\nHermes export insurance backing for German firms doing business<br>\nwith Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesian Industry and Trade Minister Rahardi Ramelan<br>\npromised that his country would move more quickly to effect<br>\neconomic reforms.<\/p>\n<p>He said Jakarta would reform the legal system and introduce<br>\nanti-cartel legislation, nor would there be restrictions on<br>\ntrade.<\/p>",
