German aid for RI projects<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Representatives from the German and Indonesian
\ngovernments yesterday signed an agreement on economic cooperation
\nworth a total of DM 149.5 million (US$96,265) in aid.<\/p>\n
The agreement marks the end of the annual bilateral
\nnegotiations on development cooperation which took place here
\nfrom Sept. 19 to 21, 1994.<\/p>\n
During the negotiations, Indonesia was represented by Deputy
\nChairman of the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas)
\nRustam Didong, while Wolf Preuss, the Director General of the
\nFederal Ministry for Foreign Economic Cooperation and Development
\nrepresented the German government.<\/p>\n
Out of the funds being appropriated, DM 110 is given as a soft
\nloan for health projects and the promotion of small businesses in
\nEast Java.<\/p>\n
The remaining DM 39.5 is part of a technical assistance grant
\nfocusing on rural development, education, environment and
\nforestry management.<\/p>\n
The signing of the agreement was conducted here yesterday by
\nPreuss and Noor Handono, acting director general of foreign
\neconomic relations from the Indonesian foreign ministry.(mds)<\/p>",
