Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Gerindra Party respects the Constitutional Court\n(MK) decision regarding the dispute over the 2024 Presidential and\nVice-Presidential election results through case Number\n01\/PHPU.PRES-XXIV\/2026, which included issues regarding the educational\nrequirements of the elected Vice President-designate, Gibran Rakabuming\nRaka.<\/p>\n
Gerindra Party Spokesperson, Sugiat Santoso, stated that the\nConstitutional Court\u2019s ruling, which declared the petitioner\u2019s\napplication inadmissible, must be respected by all parties.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Gerindra Party fully respects the Verdict of the Constitutional\nCourt Number 001\/PHPU.PRES-XXIV\/2026, which explicitly states that the\nPetitioner\u2019s application is Not Admissible or Niet Ontvankelijk\nVerklaard,\u201d said Sugiat in a statement on Thursday (8\/10\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to Sugiat, the Constitutional Court\u2019s decision is final and\nbinding. Consequently, all legal dynamics related to the Dispute of\nGeneral Election Results (PHPU) for the 2024 Presidential Election are\nconsidered concluded.<\/p>\n
He also noted that the Court has clarified the legal standing of the\npetitioners and the authority for resolving election result disputes,\nwhich follows specific stages and deadlines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe nomination process through to the final determination has\nundergone verification by the authorised institution (KPU) in accordance\nwith the legal corridors applicable during the election stages,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Gerindra subsequently urged all elements of society, national\nfigures, and political parties to respond to the Constitutional Court\u2019s\ndecision wisely. Sugiat requested that the controversy surrounding the\ncase does not continue indefinitely.<\/p>\n
According to Sugiat, speculation and legal discourse that continues\nto question the Vice President\u2019s position after the inauguration risks\ncreating legal uncertainty.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis could disrupt the investment climate, market perception, and\ninternational confidence in Indonesia\u2019s political stability,\u201d he\nstated.<\/p>\n
Sugiat assessed that a healthy democracy requires all parties to\nrespect legal corridors, dispute resolution deadlines, and the final\ndecisions of the judiciary.<\/p>\n
