The position of Director General of Immigration has officially been\nassumed by Hendarsam Marantoko, who has a background as both an advocate\nand a politician from the Gerindra Party.<\/p>\n
The handover ceremony was led by the Minister of Immigration and\nCorrectional Services, Agus Andrianto, at the Ministry\u2019s office in South\nJakarta on Wednesday (1\/4).<\/p>\n
\u201cOn this occasion, the handover of the Acting Director General of\nImmigration position from Police Brigadier General Yuldi Yusman to Mr\nHendarsam Marantoko has also taken place,\u201d Agus stated in his\nremarks.<\/p>\n
Agus hopes that Hendarsam will not only carry out the duties and\nresponsibilities of the position but also serve as a role model in\nprofessionalism and work ethics.<\/p>\n
He then reminded those present of President of the Republic of\nIndonesia Prabowo Subianto\u2019s directives for the government to realise\nthe state\u2019s objectives as set forth in the fourth paragraph of the 1945\nConstitution of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Agus stated that the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional\nServices is part of the Merah Putih Cabinet. He added that all\nauthorities held by each ministry are delegations from the President\u2019s\nauthority.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, we are demanded to be able to provide the best\ncontribution in carrying out the duties, functions, and roles of the\nMinistry of Immigration and Correctional Services, in order to support\nthe achievement of the President\u2019s objectives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Agus read out the oath of office, which was then followed by\nHendarsam. Here is the text of the oath:<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the name of Allah, I swear that I will be loyal and obedient to\nthe 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. And I will carry out\nall laws and regulations as straightforwardly as possible for the sake\nof my Dharma Bakti to the nation and state. That in carrying out my\nduties, I will uphold the ethics of the position, work to the best of my\nability, and with full sense of responsibility. That I will maintain\nintegrity, not misuse authority, and avoid disgraceful actions.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition to Hendarsam, on this day Iwan Santoso was also\ninaugurated as Special Staff for Public Services and Legal Reform.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe special staff position is a strategic one. You are expected to\nserve as both a radar and a compass for me in formulating policies,\u201d\nAgus said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the midst of global dynamics and demands for transparency, we can\nno longer work with old methods.
