Jakarta, Indonesia\u2013(ANTARA\/Business Wire)\u2013 Genon is a South Korean\nstart-up specialising in generative AI solutions. On 24 February\n(Tuesday), Genon announced the establishment of its first international\nsubsidiary in Jakarta, namely \u201cPT. Genon Global Indonesia\u201d. This move\nmarks the official launch of its market expansion to drive AI\ntransformation (AX) worldwide.<\/p>\n
Previously, Tae Ryong Kim led the exploration of international\nmarkets while serving as Head of Global Business Development at Genon.\nHe has now been appointed as President and Managing Director of PT.\nGenon Global Indonesia.<\/p>\n
This new office marks both geographical expansion and the culmination\nof a three-year global strategy. Since 2023, Genon has consistently\nbuilt its international presence by successfully implementing various\nProof of Concept (PoC) projects for automated quality inspection\nsolutions powered by Vision AI. The target of these projects was\nfootwear factories of various well-known fashion brands in Korea and\naround the world. Last year, all these efforts generated significant\nrevenue, proving the competitiveness of the technology and the\nprofitability of the business model.<\/p>\n
Currently, the industrial sector in Indonesia is growing rapidly, but\nthe availability of AI-based solutions is still relatively new. Genon\nrecognised this structural gap from the outset and took proactive steps\nto bridge it. With a population of over 270 million, Indonesia is one of\nthe most significant digital transformation opportunities in Southeast\nAsia. Genon hopes that its technology will play a key role in driving\nthe adoption of AI in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
