Tehran \u2013 Iran has finally included the cessation of Israeli\naggression in Gaza as a condition for continuing ceasefire negotiations\nwith the United States. Iran has described the ongoing genocide in Gaza\nas part of an attack against the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Iran announced it would halt all communications with the\nUS unless Israel stops the expansion of its military attacks in southern\nLebanon, according to the semi-official Iranian news agency, Tasnim.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiven the continued crimes of the Zionist regime in Lebanon, and\nconsidering that Lebanon is one of the prerequisites for a ceasefire,\nand that this ceasefire has now been violated on all fronts, including\nLebanon, the Iranian negotiating team has halted \u2018talks and the exchange\nof texts through mediators\u2019,\u201d Taslim reported.<\/p>\n
Iran also demands an end to \u201caggressive and brutal military\noperations in Gaza and Lebanon\u201d and calls for the \u201ctotal withdrawal of\nIsrael from occupied territories in Lebanon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s announcement comes shortly after the Israeli military warned\nresidents on the southern outskirts of Beirut, Dahiyeh, to evacuate the\narea ahead of planned airstrikes. Following Iran\u2019s threat, US President\nDonald Trump reportedly called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\nto urge a halt to the attacks.<\/p>\n
According to The Palestine Chronicles, Palestinian resistance groups\nhave welcomed Iran\u2019s decision to link the resumption of negotiations to\nthe end of Israeli war and aggression across all fronts, including Gaza\nand Lebanon.<\/p>\n
In a statement released last night, these factions described Iran\u2019s\nposition as a \u201cprincipled stance,\u201d stating that it reflects Tehran\u2019s\nlong-standing support for the Palestinian people, their resistance, and\nthe wider region in the face of Israeli and US-backed aggression.<\/p>\n
The Palestinian resistance factions stated that Iran\u2019s position is a\ncontinuation of its \u201cauthentic stance\u201d towards the Palestinian people\nand the communities in the region. They also called upon what they\ndescribed as the \u201cfree people\u201d to mobilise in support of the Palestinian\nand Lebanese peoples in the face of ongoing Israeli-US genocide and\naggression.<\/p>\n
