\u201cPresident Prabowo Subianto received several ministers from the Merah\nPutih Cabinet at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, 19 March 2026,\u201d\nstated @sekretariat.kabinet<\/span>.<\/p>\n According to an official statement from the Cabinet Secretariat, the\nmeeting specifically addressed the government\u2019s strategic steps in\nresponding to global dynamics that could potentially disrupt the\nstability of energy supply and prices.<\/p>\n In the meeting, Prabowo emphasised the importance of cross-sector\nenergy efficiency measures as an effort to maintain national energy\nresilience.<\/p>\n \u201cThe President instructed that efficiency be focused on several\nspecific sectors to maintain domestic energy stability and resilience,\u201d\nadded the Cabinet Secretariat.<\/p>\n Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto stated that\nthe government is refining a policy for work-from-home (WFH) one day per\nweek as an efficiency measure amid global pressures, particularly due to\nthe conflict in the Middle East driving up world oil prices.<\/p>\n He said the scheme is designed to reduce consumption of fuel oil\n(BBM), which has been heavily absorbed by daily societal mobility. He\nnoted that the potential savings are quite significant.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s why there are savings in terms of what, mobility usage of\npetrol, the savings are quite significant, one-fifth, one-fifth of what\nwe usually spend,\u201d said Airlangga after the meeting with President\nPrabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, as\nreported by Detik.com on Thursday (19\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n This step is part of the government\u2019s strategy to mitigate external\nimpacts on the domestic economy, particularly in terms of energy and\nlogistics costs, without immediately resorting to more extreme\npolicies.<\/p>\n The policy is planned to apply not only to civil servants (ASN) but\nis also expected to be followed by the private sector and regional\ngovernments. The government is currently preparing the technical details\nof its implementation to ensure it runs effectively without disrupting\nwork productivity.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, the technicalities are being prepared, because this is\nexpected not only for ASN but also for the private sector and regional\ngovernments,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The plan for implementing WFH one day in five working days will begin\nafter the 2026 Eid al-Fitr period.
