Gatari chopper reported missing<\/p>\n
BANDUNG (JP): An N-Bell 412 helicopter belonging to charter
\nfirm PT Gatari went missing during its flight from Semarang to
\nBandung on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The helicopter was flying to Bandung to be repaired by
\naircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), formerly
\nIPTN, Mohamad Reza, who is the head of the helicopter division
\nat PTDI, told Radio Mara in Bandung.<\/p>\n
According to Reza, the helicopter, which was manufactured by
\nIPTN, lost contact with Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung at
\n3 p.m.<\/p>\n
He said he believed the helicopter was carrying three people:
\nthe pilot, the copilot and a mechanic.<\/p>\n
Cikalong Wetan Police chief First Insp. Syaiful Bahri said
\nresidents of Rendeh village reported a downed helicopter in the
\nhills near the village.<\/p>\n
Syaiful said the villagers made their report at about 4 p.m.,
\nbut police were unable to locate the helicopter because of heavy
\nrain.<\/p>\n
\"We are not sure yet if it is the PT Gatari helicopter,\"
\nSyaiful said, confirming that a man from PT Gatari had telephoned
\nhim concerning the missing helicopter.<\/p>\n
Reza said two helicopters from his company carrying rescuers
\nhad begun the search for the missing helicopter.<\/p>\n
The Air Force and the Indonesian Radio Organization (ORARI)
\nare assisting the operation, he added.<\/p>\n
The coordinator of the Bandung regency branch of ORARI, Dadang
\nSudjana, said from Rendeh village that as of 8 p.m. the rescue
\nteam had yet to locate any signs of the helicopter.<\/p>\n
\"A heavy rain is falling here and there is a thick fog. We are
\nstill trying to decide on the best way to search for the
