        "content": "<p>Garut to develop refugee shelters<\/p>\n<p>GARUT, West Java: The local regional settlement and<br>\ninfrastructure office will develop camps for refugees in the<br>\nregency&apos;s south because the Gasela area is quite prone to<br>\nlandslides and mudflows.<\/p>\n<p>A study by the Directorate General of Volcanology and Disaster<br>\nMitigation, indicated that the Gasela area was prone to natural<br>\ndisasters because of its geological condition that triggered<br>\nlandslides and mudflows during the rainy season almost every<br>\nyear, head of the local regional settlement and infrastructure<br>\noffice Widiyana said here on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We need permanent camps in adjacent areas free from disasters<br>\nfor as long as the people living in the landslide-prone areas<br>\nchoose not to relocate,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The subdistricts prone to natural disasters are Talegong,<br>\nCisewu, Bungbulang, Pakenjeng, Pamulihan, Singajaya, Banjarwangi,<br>\nCisompet, Cihurip and Cikelet. -- JP<\/p>",
