INDONESIA: National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to shift
\nits Indonesia-Europe routes from southern Asia to northern Asia
\nto avoid Iraq should war break out, Antara reported on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Garuda official Bahrul Hakim said that if a war began in Iraq,
\nGaruda's routes to Europe would fly over Russia.<\/p>\n
"The routes to Europe usually take the southern route:
\nDenpasar- Singapore-London or Denpasar-Singapore-Amsterdam," said
\nGaruda official Bahrul Hakim.<\/p>\n
Denpasar is the capital of Bali, Indonesia's most famous beach

THAILAND: Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world's
\nlongest-reigning monarch, was discharged from hospital on
\nSaturday after he underwent a hernia operation days earlier.<\/p>\n
A team of royal physicians was satisfied with the 75-year-old
\nking's recovery after his operation on Tuesday, the Bureau of the
\nRoyal Household said in a statement.<\/p>\n
They recommended he refrain from activity while he recuperated
\nat Chitralada Palace in central Bangkok.<\/p>\n
Before he left Siriraj Hospital, the king and his children
\npaid homage to statues of his deceased parents in the hospital
\ngrounds.<\/p>\n
King Bhumibol had another hernia operation last June. In
\nFebruary 2002 he was hospitalized for prostate surgery after a
\nnine-year ailment, which a royal statement at the time said was

BANGLADESH: Activists Saturday bemoaned the lack of progress on
\nwomen's rights in Bangladesh, where five women are attacked with
\nacid every week despite a decade of rule by female prime
\nministers.<\/p>\n
Women's groups staged rallies across the Bangladesh capital
\nfor International Women's Day, some led by victims of acid
\nattacks or by female laborers in garment factories, which bring
\nin a major chunk of the country's foreign exchange.<\/p>\n
But many doubted Bangladesh had seen real change on women's
\nrights. One poster plastered around Dhaka showed a woman behind
\nbars crying out for freedom.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Saturday greeted marchers who
\nhave been crisscrossing Bangladesh since Feb. 22 to raise
\nawareness on women's and children's rights, telling them her
\ngovernment was "committed to ending all sorts of discrimination
