        "content": "<p>Garuda Indonesia Flight Lands Safely After Tire Blowout<\/p>\n<p>Reporter<\/p>\n<p>September 3, 2026 | 06:30 pm<\/p>\n<p>TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia flight GA604, en route from\nJakarta to Makassar, suffered a tire blowout on one of its main gear en\nroute to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, South Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Boeing 737-800 was carrying 156 passengers. Despite technical\ndifficulties, the aircraft landed safely after performing a go-around or\nfly-past as part of safety procedures,\u201d said Acting General Manager of\nSultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Lukman Mardian, in Maros on\nThursday, September 3, 2026, as quoted from Antara.<\/p>\n<p>Lukman said the airport received information about the aircraft\u2019s\ncondition from the AirNav Indonesia Tower at around 7:00 a.m. WITA\n(Central Indonesian Time).<\/p>\n<p>Upon receiving this information, airport management immediately\nalerted personnel and safety equipment, including Airport Rescue and\nFire Fighting (ARFF), F1 and F2 vehicles, Nurse Tenders, and other\nsupport vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Coordination was also carried out with AirNav Indonesia, SAR, the\nHealth Quarantine Center (BBKK), and the Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force\nRescue Base to ensure readiness for the aircraft\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n<p>GA604 then performed a go-around or fly-past before landing safely on\nRunway 03 of Sultan Hasanuddin Airport at 9:13 a.m. WITA.<\/p>\n<p>After the aircraft stopped, officers immediately responded and\nensured the safety of all passengers and crew.<\/p>\n<p>The 156 passengers were then transferred from the aircraft to the\nterminal using four buses. The evacuation process proceeded safely and\norderly, with the last passenger departing the aircraft at 9:53 a.m.\nWITA.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure operational safety, Runway 03-21 of Sultan Hasanuddin\nAirport was temporarily closed via a Notice of Inspection (NOA) from\n9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. WITA.
