        "content": "<p>Garuda, Bouraq sign agreement on aircraft maintenance<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The national air carrier Garuda Indonesia and <br>\nBouraq airlines signed an agreement here yesterday to maintain <br>\nthe private commercial airline&apos;s fleet at the Garuda Maintenance <br>\nFacility (GMF).<\/p>\n<p>&quot;GMF, which received certification from the United States <br>\nFederal Aviation Administration in 1992, has been able to <br>\nmaintain and repair small and wide aircraft,&quot; Garuda&apos;s president, <br>\nWage Mulyono (right), said after signing the agreement with <br>\nBouraq&apos;s president, Jerry A. Sumendap (left).<\/p>\n<p>He said several domestic and foreign airlines use GMF to <br>\nmaintain their aircraft. The airlines include Pelita Air Service, <br>\nGatari Airfast, Sempati Air, Kuwait Air, Air Libanon and World <br>\nAirways.<\/p>\n<p>Under yesterday&apos;s agreement, Garuda will also provide training <br>\nand assistance for Bouraq&apos;s personnel on aircraft maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Sumendap said that utilizing GMF&apos;s facilities will help Bouraq <br>\nreduce maintenance expenditures by 20 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We used to maintain our aircraft at various facilities in <br>\nother countries, including Singapore, the United States and Hong <br>\nKong,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bouraq also maintained some of its aircraft at PT Industri <br>\nPesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN), the state-owned aircraft <br>\nproducer in Bandung, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Bouraq&apos;s vice president, G.
