Garlic smugglers arrested<\/p>\n
TANGERANG, West Java (JP): Two truck drivers who were
\ntransporting five tons of garlic were apprehended Sunday evening
\nin the Teluk Naga district.<\/p>\n
The lading documents stated that the trucks, with Medan
\nlicense plates, carried cow hides, Lt.Col. Iman Haryatna, the
\nTangerang police chief, said yesterday.<\/p>\n
\"The documents were aimed at fooling inspectors,\" Iman said.<\/p>\n
A resident of the Dadap Indah housing area, Krisno, was also
\narrested following reports from neighbors. They became suspicious
\nwhen the truck drivers started unloading in front of Krisno's
\nhome at 11:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Police questioned Krisno and drivers Wiji and Marlin, who
\nsaid the trucks belonged to a man named Asin.<\/p>\n
Asin is now wanted by the police. Krisno said he acts as a
\nfence at his home which also serves as a shop selling household
\nitems.<\/p>\n
They were planning to sell the garlic for Rp 5,000 per
