Garbageman rapes eight-year-old girl<\/p>\n
KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: A temporarily employed official at
\nthe Kendari sanitary office in Southeast Sulawesi has been
\ndetained by local police for raping an eight-year-old school
\ngirl.<\/p>\n
Chief the Mandonga police subprecinct First Insp. Edwin H.
\nsaid on Saturday the accused, identified only by his initials as
\nBB, 30, had two wives and did not deny the charges against him.<\/p>\n
The attack took place on May 21 at the house of La Bani, the
\nsuspect's friend, on Jl. Sultan Hasanuddin in Benu Benua,
\nKendari, Edwin said.<\/p>\n
He said the victim, named only by her initials WN, an
\nelementary school student in Kendari, was visited by Wa Naana,
\nanother of BB's friends, who asked her to meet the suspect for an
\nunspecified reason at a garbage truck.<\/p>\n
BB later took the victim to La Bani's house, where she was
\ntold to stay put until he returned from his job, Edwin said.<\/p>\n
The suspect appeared in the late evening and directly asked
\nthe victim to sleep with him in the same house, he added.<\/p>\n
\"At the time, the child tried to reject the offer, but was
\nturned powerless. Therefore, she was forced to surrender her
