It plays a significant role in job absorption, regional\neconomic development, and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n<p>One such effort involved organising the Sobat Sawit (Soswit) Goes To\nSchool Sulawesi event at SMK Negeri 1 Pasangkayu in West Sulawesi on\nMonday (4\/5). Themed \u201cPalm Oil is Close: Providing Jobs, Driving the\nEconomy, Building the Region,\u201d the event was officially opened by the\nRegent of Pasangkayu, Yaumil Ambo Djiwa, and attended by more than 280\nstudents and teachers from various senior high schools and vocational\nschools in Pasangkayu Regency.<\/p>\n<p>Dony Yoga Perdana, Chairman of the GAPKI Sulawesi Branch, expressed\ngratitude to all involved parties. He hoped the event would provide\ntangible benefits for the youth in Pasangkayu. The programme was\norganised by GAPKI in collaboration with member company PT Pasangkayu,\nand supported by relevant stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this programme, GAPKI aims to bring palm oil education\ncloser, more interactive, and relevant to the younger generation,\nparticularly high school and vocational students,\u201d said Dony, as quoted\nin his statement on Monday, 4 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, the Regent of Pasangkayu emphasised that the palm oil\nsector has a strategic role in regional development, particularly in job\nabsorption, boosting community economic activity, and growth in various\nsupporting sectors at the local level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this event, I hope the students gain a correct and\ncomprehensive understanding of palm oil, from cultivation processes and\neconomic benefits to sustainable and environmentally friendly\nmanagement.
