We visited Mal Puri Indah with our children on Sunday June 15.
\nAfter shopping, our children went to play in the mall's games
\nsection on the ground floor (in front of the information
\ncounter). At about 4.30 p.m. after paying for tickets at Rp 2,000
\neach, I lifted my baby, while my 8-year-old climbed by himself,
\nonto the platform of a ride.<\/p>\n
We were in for a jarring surprise because the operator
\nsuddenly activated the game before the children were safely in
\nplace. I screamed because my unstable position nearly sent me
\ntumbling, while my oldest child shrieked in fear. The operator
\nswitched the ride off.<\/p>\n
There was no apology after we told the operator that we were
\nnot ready yet. On the contrary, he defended himself with the
\nexcuse that the operating switch got stuck. After some
\nobservation, we noted that the operator could not be bothered to
\ncollect the tickets from the children. He did not move from his
\nplace and stayed put near the switch of the ride. Only when the
\nplatform turned in position to where he stood, did he reach out
\nfor the tickets.<\/p>\n
The same was happening at the neighboring game, a train ride.<\/p>\n
I am appealing to the management of Mal Puri Indah to take the
\nchildren's safety into consideration. It is not enough for
\nparents to personally watching over their children without the
\ncooperation of game operators. Visitors should exercise more
\ncaution when they want to have a go at electric games.<\/p>\n
