Chinese automaker GAC Trumpchi has unveiled teasers for its upcoming off-road SUV, codenamed T75, featuring a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system and advanced "digital chassis" technology, set to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2026. The rugged vehicle, tested in extreme cold conditions and equipped with LiDAR sensors potentially supplied by Huawei, aims to compete with models from GWM and BYD in the growing electric off-road segment. This launch underscores GAC's push into intelligent, hybrid mobility solutions amid rising domestic sales of 39,391 units in early 2026.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Guangzhou, China-based automaker GAC Trumpchi
is teasing the public with the emergence of its latest off-road SUV,
which will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system and “digital
chassis” technology. According to Carnewschina on Monday local time, the
model is scheduled to debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 at the end of
April and will compete with models from GWM and BYD. GAC’s new SUV is
known to use the development code T75. The vehicle features a boxy body
design with short overhangs, a flat roofline, large side mirrors, and
semi-hidden door handles. Other exterior elements include plastic
protectors around the wheel arches, dark-coloured wheels, and large main
headlights. GAC describes the model as a high-capability off-road SUV
that relies on a plug-in hybrid system and “digital chassis” technology.
Electromechanical braking systems are increasingly used in China,
including on models like the Exeed EX7 and Li Auto L9. Previously, this
SUV underwent cold weather testing in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia, known as
one of China’s coldest regions with temperatures below minus 30 degrees
Celsius. The model is also equipped with air suspension. Although still
covered in camouflage, a LiDAR sensor is visible on the vehicle’s roof.
That component is likely supplied by Huawei, given GAC’s previous
collaboration with the technology company in developing smart vehicles.
GAC Trumpchi is a passenger car brand launched in 2010, with a product
lineup covering petrol and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the Chinese
market. Globally, the vehicles are marketed under the GAC brand without
the Trumpchi name. Based on data from China EV DataTracker, the brand
recorded domestic sales of 39,391 units from January to February 2026.
In early April, GAC also released official images and videos of its new
off-road SUV via its Weibo account.
",
