        "content": "<p>Istanbul (ANTARA) - G20 ministers concluded a two-day ministerial\nmeeting on innovation in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on Wednesday\n(2\/9), reaching a consensus on the governance and application of\nemerging new technologies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReaching consensus within the G20 is not an easy feat, but the topic\nof innovation as a driver of growth has united us in a historic moment\nof unity,\u201d said US Trade Secretary Howard Lutnick.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that the agreement provides confidence for\nentrepreneurs to invest, while ensuring that intellectual property\nframeworks are capable of both driving and protecting innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The consensus statement, known as the Caroline Principles for\nEmerging Technologies, outlines shared objectives across six key\npillars.<\/p>\n<p>These pillars include policy frameworks that support innovation, the\nutilisation of technology to create opportunities and prosperity, and\nthe development of a skilled technical workforce.<\/p>\n<p>The principles specifically encourage member nations to invest in\nbasic research and strengthen commercialisation pathways.<\/p>\n<p>The framework also prioritises intellectual property policies for\nArtificial Intelligence (AI), as well as the establishment of standards\nfor AI systems and industrial innovation through investment in supply\nchains.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting also launched the AI Prosperity Objective and the AI\nProsperity Compact to further promote the development of a technical\nworkforce across G20 nations and expand partnership opportunities with\nthe private sector.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Kratsios, Director of the Office of Science and Technology\nPolicy (OSTP)\u2014the agency that advises the US executive branch on\ntechnology issues\u2014stated that this vision relies on flexible policy\nframeworks to drive global growth.<\/p>\n<p>The summit, organised by the US Department of Commerce and the OSTP,\nfeatured high-level discussions with leading technology leaders,\nincluding Elon Musk (Tesla and SpaceX), Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), Sam\nAltman (OpenAI), and Mark Zuckerberg (Meta).<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was attended by representatives from 20 countries and\nregional organisations, including T\u00fcrkiye, China, the European Union,\nRussia, and the United Kingdom.<\/p>",
