        "content": "<p>Funds for projects arrive late<\/p>\n<p>BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: Funds for labor intensive projects<br>\nunder the Ministry of Forestry to help the poor clear neglected<br>\nland in the West Lampung regency frequently arrive late.<\/p>\n<p>Red tape and the distance between the villages and the<br>\ntreasury offices are to blame, Dedy Juanda, an official in charge<br>\nof the projects, said.<\/p>\n<p>Dedy said residents once threatened to hold a demonstration in<br>\nthe Bengkunat district in West Lampung to protest allegations<br>\nthat funds allocated to pay the workers for the projects were<br>\nused by officials, Antara reported on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The labor intensive projects are meant to clear 200 hectares<br>\nof land in a number of villages in the district, 250 kilometers<br>\nwest of the capital of Bandarlampung.<\/p>\n<p>Villagers were promised Rp 7,500 per day to clear the land.<\/p>",
