        "content": "<p>The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) has disclosed a\nprovisional chronology relating to the collision between the Argo Bromo\nAnggrek and the KRL Commuter Line on the Kampung Bandan-Cikarang route\nat Bekasi Timur Station on 27 April.<\/p>\n<p>KNKT chairman Soerjanto Tjahjono said the chronology report, prepared\nwith Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives, remains\nprovisional as investigations continue. \u2018We are still conducting\ninvestigations and studies. If we draw conclusions about the causes, it\nis still too early. We need more time to evaluate; there are data we\nstill need to process to complete these data,\u2019 he told reporters at the\nDPR building on Thursday (21 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>Provisional chronology: The Argo Bromo Anggrek driver said he had\nbegun braking from a distance of 1.3 km after receiving information that\nthere was a KRL ahead. The driver had attempted to brake. But at Pusdal\n(Control Center) they did not know the actual conditions around Bekasi\nTimur Station, because communications are through voice via the cabin\nradio. So Pusdal did not know the actual conditions; they only informed\nthat there was a KRL ahead, and the driver had tried to brake, he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Soerjanto hopes the investigation proceeds smoothly so that the final\nresults can be disclosed in two to three months. \u2018We hope that if all\nprocesses go smoothly, within 2-3 months, hopefully we can complete it,\u2019\nhe concluded.<\/p>",
