A corruption fugitive from Pati, Central Java, has been arrested in\nSleman. He was caught while working at a car rental business.<\/p>\n
The corruption fugitive is AR, the former head of Tlogosari Village,\nPati, who became a corruption suspect after misappropriating village\nfunds amounting to Rp 805.656 million.<\/p>\n
AR had been named a suspect since April. He then fled to various\nregions until he was finally arrested on Wednesday (12\/8).<\/p>\n

Working at a Car Rental in Sleman<\/p>\n
The search for AR was carried out by officers for two weeks. During\nhis time on the run, AR moved from place to place until he was tracked\ndown in Sleman.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince the new Police Chief took office, he ordered members not to\nreturn home until they found him. The search took approximately two\nweeks, with routes starting from Salatiga, Boyolali, and yesterday he\nwas successfully apprehended in Sleman, Yogyakarta,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
AR finally gave himself up when his hiding place was detected by\nofficers. He was arrested without resistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe person concerned was working at a car rental. There was no\nresistance. This case is currently being handled by the Pati District\nProsecutor\u2019s Office,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Misappropriating Village Funds<\/p>\n
AR was named a suspect by the Pati District Prosecutor\u2019s Office on 24\nApril. AR is suspected of misappropriating village finances amounting to\nRp 805.656 million.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this case, we have named the Head of Tlogosari Village with the\ninitials AR as a suspect,\u201d said Pati District Prosecutor\u2019s Office\nIntelligence Section Head Rendra Yoki Pardede to reporters at his\noffice, Friday (24\/4).<\/p>\n
Rendra said the suspect allegedly committed corruption involving the\nmisappropriation of Village Funds, Village Allocations, Village Original\nIncome, and assistance from regional and provincial governments.<\/p>\n
The Prosecutor\u2019s Office has received and confiscated the suspect\u2019s\ncorruption proceeds. Corruption proceeds amounting to Rp 500 million\nwere handed over to the Pati District Prosecutor\u2019s Office on Thursday\n(23\/4).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe amount we received was Rp 500 million, but previously we had\nalready confiscated or received funds amounting to Rp 166 million, so\nthe total village financial loss that has not yet been recovered is Rp\n139.656 million,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Rendra said that as a result of this corruption, the village suffered\nlosses reaching Rp 805.656 million.
