Fuel shortage and unemployment<\/p>\n

The fuel shortage continues to prevail in several regions,
\nsuch as Surakarta, Yogyakarta and Central Lombok. In Surakarta,
\nCentral Java, hundreds of people have to queue up for hours only
\nto get two liters of kerosene each.<\/p>\n
In Yogyakarta, kerosene and gasoline are also scarce.
\nSubscribers will get a maximum of 40 liters of premium gasoline
\neach while new consumer is only rationed to 10 liters.<\/p>\n
Central Lombok citizens take two days to obtain a maximum of
\nthree cans of kerosene with a permit from the district chief.
\nFishermen along Java's northern coasts also find it hard to get
\ndiesel oil, thus preventing them from fishing.<\/p>\n
The same phenomenon will be widespread as long as the
\ngovernment does not overcome the fuel shortage. Consequently,
\npeople using fuel for their daily activities will lose their
\njobs.<\/p>\n
Unless the fuel issue is properly solved, the government will
\nbe facing a heavier burden, with the new problem of unemployment.
\nFrom now on, any policy that harms public interests must be
\navoided.<\/p>\n
