The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) continues to\noversee efforts to accelerate the normalisation of fuel distribution\ncarried out by Pertamina Patra Niaga for the Northern Sumatra Region\n(Sumbagut). Various intensive distribution strengthening measures are\nbeginning to show results. Queuing conditions at a number of petrol\nstations, particularly in Medan and surrounding areas, are gradually\neasing, leading to improved public services.<\/p>\n
To accelerate the normalisation of fuel distribution in North\nSumatra, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut has increased the\ncapacity of its tanker truck fleet and crew by approximately 35 percent,\noptimised supply diversions from the Siantar Fuel Terminal, Kisaran Fuel\nTerminal, and Lhokseumawe Integrated Terminal, and maximised the receipt\nand distribution of fuel supplies through the Medan Group Fuel Terminal\nfacility in Labuhan Deli. These measures have driven an increase in fuel\ndistribution to petrol stations to around 120 to 125 percent compared to\nnormal conditions.<\/p>\n
During an inspection at the Medan Group Fuel Terminal, Head of BPH\nMigas Wahyudi Anas stated that fuel stocks in North Sumatra are\ncurrently secure. Supplies have also been further reinforced after two\nvessels completed unloading specific types of fuel and assigned\nfuel.<\/p>\n
\u2018With the daily routines of the community, God willing, this will\nease the queues at petrol stations spread across the North Sumatra\nregion,\u2019 Wahyudi said. He noted that the increase in fuel supply to 120\nto 125 percent is an acceleration measure aimed at normalising services\nat petrol stations. \u2018We continue to request that the increase in supply\nbe expedited, from the previous condition to 120 to 125 percent. This is\nthe best effort to ease the queues at petrol stations that are a public\nconcern,\u2019 he stressed.<\/p>\n
Based on monitoring by BPH Migas and PPN on Friday afternoon, queues\nat most petrol stations in Medan have gradually returned to normal.\n\u2018There were only two to three cars, meaning there were almost no queues.\nThis was the condition at 5:45 PM WIB.
