Fuel price hike benefits the greedy<\/p>\n

The impact of the fuel price hike has been unfavorably felt by
\nneedy people and students. Prices of commodities, including basic
\ndaily needs, are also up, some having jumped even before the fuel
\nhike came into effect.<\/p>\n
Strangely enough, some government officials consider the fuel
\nprice hike as not having a very big impact. I think the officials
\ndaring to issue such a statement do not have the conscience to
\nrespond to the grievances of the needy.<\/p>\n
The fuel hike might be meant to boost the nation's economy and
\nequalize our fuel prices with those on the international market,
\nbut I think now is not a suitable time to implement the policy.<\/p>\n
Apart from this, the government's plan to give subsidies to
\nthe poor will lead to more corruption, won't it? Will the fuel
\nhike allowance be equitably enjoyed by the needy throughout
\nIndonesia's vast territory? More importantly, can the government
\nprevent greedy businesspeople from taking the opportunity to
\nhoard commodities and then hike up their prices?<\/p>\n
To students, the impact of the fuel price hike is hard to
\nbear. Public transportation fares go up as gasoline prices go up.
\nFurthermore, the unwillingness of some public transportation
\ndrivers to stop for students means we get to school late, as well
\nas costing us money.<\/p>\n
I hope the government is prepared to revoke the fuel price
\nhike, or at least postpone it until all the people are able to
\nface the increase.<\/p>\n
