The idealism basis starts from the <br>\nthought that a lot of places with historical value as the centers <br>\nof royal powers for thousands of years are found in Indonesia, <br>\nlike Kutai in East Kalimantan and Banten in the western part of <br>\nJava.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta has no longer been an ideal city for a governmental <br>\ncenter because of its traffic density and vulnerability to <br>\ndisturbances. Certain roads in Jakarta are vulnerable to crimes. <br>\nNo wonder a notable businessman like Tong Djoe or a well-known <br>\nlawyer like OC Kaligis have preferred to use low-class cars like <br>\nKijang vans, or even cheaper cars, so as to avoid hoodlums' <br>\nvandalism actions.<\/p>\n<p>Some owners of luxurious cars have to use the service of their <br>\npersonal guards while passing certain roads in Jakarta. However, <br>\nthe help of personal guards does not guarantee that they will not <br>\nbe disturbed by criminal deeds. It takes only seconds for a <br>\nstreet criminal to snatch a side mirror from a luxury car.<\/p>\n<p>Prestigious higher educational institutions like the <br>\nUniversity of Indonesia and various other notable universities <br>\nhave chosen their locations outside Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The question is will Jakarta's function change if Jakarta is <br>\nno longer the capital of the Republic of Indonesia? There are <br>\nmany other functions of Jakarta, such as an industrial city, a <br>\ntrade city and a service city, which will not necessarily change.<\/p>\n<p>A capital city also functions as a military center, which must <br>\nnot be vulnerable to internal and external disturbances.
