Through its Board of Professors, the university\nofficially launched the strategic concept \u2018AI for Life\u2019 for Indonesia\u2019s\nfuture. This significant step is reinforced by BINUS University\u2019s\nappointment as host of the prestigious international event, the QS\nHigher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026, which will serve as a crucial\nplatform to elevate dialogue on technological innovation and higher\neducation in Indonesia to a global level.<\/p>\n<p>Amidst an exponentially evolving technological landscape, the Asia\nPacific region has become the most dynamic centre for research,\ninnovation, and digital mobility. Responding to these challenges, the\n\u2018AI for Life\u2019 concept serves as a cross-disciplinary reflection,\nensuring that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) does not stop at\nmere tool usage but is ethically directed to strengthen quality of life,\nproductivity, and national sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the BINUS University Board of Professors, Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Ir.\nHarjanto Prabowo, M.M., stated that this 9th Lustrum momentum provides a\nspace for academics to make real contributions to wider society.\n\u201cThrough the AI for Life concept, the BINUS Board of Professors wants to\nemphasise that technology, especially AI, must be directed to enhance\nhuman life, not replace it,\u201d said Prof.\u00a0Harjanto.<\/p>\n<p>The AI for Life concept is formulated through three strategic\nscientific focuses highlighting Indonesia\u2019s technology roadmap:<\/p>\n<p>Technology, Engineering, and IT (AI Transformation): Led by\nProf.\u00a0Firdaus Alamsjah, Prof.\u00a0Widodo Budiharto, and Prof.\u00a0Engkos A.\nKuncoro, this sub-team stresses the transition from mere AI adoption to\nAI transformation, becoming a creator of economic and social value.
