French dance to be performed<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The public will once again be able to enjoy a
\ncontemporary dance performance: Ignis, choreographed by Gladys
\nSanchez from France.<\/p>\n
The performance on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Teater Luwes,
\nInstitut Kesenian Jakarta, will be performed by dancers Gladys
\nSanchez, Emmanuelle Beauvois and Nathalie Auger.<\/p>\n
Sanchez collaborated with Eric Wurtz, a French lighting
\ndesigner, in Ignis. They have been collaborating in dance since
\n1997 when they, along with Italian dancer Chiara, stayed in
\nIndonesia for two months on a cultural exchange program.<\/p>\n
The Centre Culturel Francais Jakarta has invited both artists,
\nwho are in the Double 6 group, to present their newest work with
\nthe above title.<\/p>\n
This original collaboration between Sanchez and Wurtz proves
\nto be a work of art that questions the relation between movements
\nand lights. Video pictures are projected onto lengths of tulle,
\nproducing amazing silhouettes in fast or slow movements.<\/p>\n
Music to the performance is accompanied by percussion
\ninstruments in acknowledgement of Indonesia, where Ignis was
\ncreated.<\/p>\n
