        "content": "<p>PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) states that the production level at the\nmine after the landslide incident in the Grasberg Block Cave (GBC)\nunderground mining area on 8 September 2025 has reached around 40-50\npercent.<\/p>\n<p>Freeport Indonesia targets operations to return to near 100 percent\nby the end of 2026 and achieve full production capacity in the early\nquarter of 2027.<\/p>\n<p>PTFI President Director Tony Wenas emphasises that PTFI continues to\nstrengthen safety aspects in the recovery of underground mining\noperations, as well as adding security personnel in the Grasberg area to\nensure safe and sustainable production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to delivering safe, secured, and sustainable\nproduction, so that the maximum benefits can continue to be felt by the\nnation and state, as well as the communities around the operational\narea. We will continue to grow and develop together with the community\nuntil the end of mining operations,\u201d said Tony in an official statement\nreceived in Malang, East Java, on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, as reported\nby Antara.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 2025, PTFI contributed approximately Rp70 trillion to the\nstate in the form of taxes, royalties, dividends, and other\nrevenues.<\/p>\n<p>PTFI also continues to commit to providing direct benefits to\ncommunities around the operational area through various social\ninvestment programmes.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, Tony said, the value of PTFI\u2019s social investment reached\nnearly Rp2 trillion and will continue to increase by around 100 million\nUS dollars or equivalent to Rp1.5 trillion per year until the end of\nmining operations.<\/p>\n<p>This commitment runs in parallel with the company\u2019s contribution to\ncreating jobs, with more than 30,000 employees, of which around 40\npercent are indigenous Papuans.<\/p>\n<p>Freeport Indonesia commemorated its 59th anniversary by remembering\nnine employees who died in incidents occurring over the past year.<\/p>\n<p>In the series of commemoration activities, PTFI management paid\nrespects to seven employees who died due to the wet material slide\nincident in the Grasberg Block Cave (GBC) underground mining area on 8\nSeptember 2025, as well as two employees who passed away due to two\nshooting incidents in February and March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that in the future such incidents will not happen again,\nwhether landslides or shootings, or other events that could endanger\nsafety,\u201d said Tony.<\/p>",
