        "content": "<p>Free contraceptives sold in Bengkulu<\/p>\n<p>BENGKULU: Contraceptives, which were originally to be<br>\ndistributed freely to low income families, were sold in a number<br>\nof drugstores in Bengkulu despite clear identification denoting<br>\nthat they were not for sale.<\/p>\n<p>The contraceptives could be found at Panorama drugstores on<br>\nJalan Suprapto, here, in the form of pills (microgynon and<br>\nplanotab) and injectable substances like depo progeston and<br>\ndepogestin.<\/p>\n<p>One of store owners put away the contraceptives when Antara<br>\nasked their price. He said that he had bought the contraceptives<br>\nfrom a doctor, who had just finished his working contract with<br>\nthe government.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Bengkulu office of the National Family Planning Board<br>\n(BKKBN) Poerwijayanto confirmed that there are many such drugs on<br>\nsale at the drugstores.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Our officers once acted as undercover agents and found out<br>\nthat many contraceptives allocated for participants of the family<br>\nplanning program were sold openly,&quot; he added.
