Free condom for revelers<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The National Family Planning Board is to
\ndispense free condoms and contraceptive pills to people
\ncelebrating the forthcoming Idul Fitri holiday in their home
\nvillages.<\/p>\n
\"Don't forget to take them with you,\" board chairman Haryono
\nSuyono, who is also the minister of population, told reporters
\nyesterday. \"But if you forget, don't worry. They will also be
\navailable closer to home,\" he added.<\/p>\n
The contraceptives will be available at every family planning
\nunit, be they in towns or in villages, he added.<\/p>\n
The family planning board will also be opening posts in bus
\nterminals and railway stations to hand the free contraceptives
\nout to Idul Fitri revelers.<\/p>\n
The board's message is to remind couples to continue the
\npractice of family planning even after Ramadhan, the Moslem
\nfasting month in which sexual intercourse is prohibited during
\ndaylight hours.<\/p>\n
Many people celebrate Idul Fitri, the holiday that comes after
\nRamadhan, in their home villages. From Jakarta alone, more than
\nthree million people are expected to join the exodus.<\/p>\n
Haryono said his office was prepared with the condoms and
\ncontraceptive pills. \"There'll be enough for everyone,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Haryono's deputy, Sunandar, said those asking for the
\ncontraceptives will not be asked to show their marriage
\ncertificate.<\/p>\n
\"What Moslem would lie about these things, especially after
\nRamadhan?\" Sunandar said, when asked about the possibility of the
