The syndicate carried\nout highly organised scams targeting their compatriots in Japan. The\narrests were conducted by the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement\nTeam on Monday, 2 March 2026, after intensive surveillance at several\nsites in Babakan Madang. The suspects were found to hire luxury houses\non Jalan Parahyangan Golf Blok G76-G78 and Jalan Bukit Golf Hijau Raya\nNo.\u00a04 as operational bases.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Director General of Immigration Brigadier General Yuldi Yusman\nexplained that the syndicate operated with highly adequate and\nstructured equipment. \u2018During the operation, our officers found a large\nquantity of communications devices, digital documents including scripts\nand operational manuals for the fraud, and Japanese police uniforms,\u2019\nYuldi said at a press conference at the Bogor Immigration Office on\nWednesday afternoon, 4 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Based on preliminary investigations, the modus operandi used by the\nperpetrators to mislead victims is outlined as follows: The case\nhighlights a cross-border cybercrime trend, with Indonesia acting as a\nbase of operations due to suitable housing facilities. Immigration urged\nthe public to report suspicious activities involving foreign nationals\nin their neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, all 13 Japanese nationals remain under in-depth\nexaminations to uncover broader networks.
