France has not issued travel ban<\/p>\n
The government of France vowed on Wednesday that it would not
\nrestrict its citizens from traveling to Indonesia despite a
\nstring of strong travel warnings already issued by several other
\ncountries in the aftermath of the devastating Bali attack.<\/p>\n
"Some countries have taken drastic measures, urging their
\ncitizens to leave Indonesia, banning them from traveling to
\nIndonesia, but we are pleased to say that it is not our
\napproach," French Ambassador to Indonesia Herve Lasdous told
\nreporters during a press conference at his office here.<\/p>\n
France has issued what is considered a lower level advisory
\nfor its citizens in Indonesia, not quite as severe in its
\nlanguage as other countries.<\/p>\n
According to Lasdous, terrorism is a global problem, and the
\nterrorism threats exist in many places, not just in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Thus, the French government has decided not to issue a travel
\nban or require French people in Indonesia to leave the country,
\nsaid Lasdous.<\/p>\n
Lasdous took the opportunity to clarify his government's
\nposition just days after Indonesia and other Southeast Asian
\ncountries urged developed countries to revoke their travel
