        "content": "<p>French National Police will deploy 8,000 officers from all units to\nensure security during the upcoming June G7 Summit, the agency stated on\nWednesday (27 May). The G7 Summit under French presidency will take\nplace from 15-17 June in the French resort town of Evian-les-Bains, on\nthe shores of Lake Geneva.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe National Police will ensure the security and protection of the\nseven heads of state and their delegations. A total of 8,000 officers\nfrom all specialist units (public security, protective services, law\nenforcement, judicial police, intelligence, etc.) will be deployed,\u201d\naccording to a police statement on X on Thursday (28 May).<\/p>\n<p>Security forces will also utilise drones and counter-drone measures,\nwhile border security will be tightened. G7 leaders will arrive at\nGeneva Airport on 15 June, after which they will be under the protection\nof France\u2019s High-Level Security Service (SDLP), the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in January, the Swiss cabinet stated that its military would\nalso contribute to G7 Summit security. Up to 5,000 military personnel\ncould be deployed for this purpose, and airspace around the Geneva\nregion will be restricted.<\/p>\n<p>G7 leaders reiterated their commitment to peace and stability in the\nMiddle East amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. G7 members\ncalled for immediate de-escalation of tensions in the region and stated\nthat Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo Subianto chose to skip the G7 Summit and will\ninstead undertake a state visit to the Russian Federation next week.<\/p>\n<p>NasDem Party\u2019s Commission I member Amelia Anggraini expressed\nappreciation and welcomed the invitation for President Prabowo Subianto\nto attend the G7 Summit in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>G7 leaders issued a strong warning to China, accusing it of\nsupporting Russia\u2019s defence industry, enabling Moscow to continue its\nwar in Ukraine.<\/p>",
