BANDUNG \u2013 The Faculty of Social Sciences Education (FPIPS) at\nUniversitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) received an operational vehicle\nin the form of one Toyota Hiace unit from PT Telkom Indonesia during a\nhandover ceremony at the East Lobby of FPIPS UPI on Monday (4\/5\/2026).\nThe event was attended by university leaders, company representatives,\nand the UPI academic community.<\/p>\n
The operational vehicle assistance is intended to support the\nimplementation of the three pillars of higher education\u2014particularly\ncommunity service activities, strengthening education, and developing\nprogrammes based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n
UPI Rector, Didi Sukyadi, expressed appreciation for the support\nprovided by PT Telkom Indonesia to UPI. According to him, the presence\nof the operational vehicle will help enhance the effectiveness of\nvarious university activities in the field.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis vehicle is very much needed to support university mobility,\nespecially in developing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\nprogrammes,\u201d he stated in a comment quoted on Sunday (10\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n
He explained that the vehicle would be used for various activities,\nranging from community service in remote areas, mangrove planting, to\nmonitoring student activities at UPI\u2019s regional campuses such as Serang,\nPurwakarta, Tasikmalaya, Sumedang, and Cibiru.<\/p>\n
In addition, the collaboration between UPI and PT Telkom Indonesia\nencompasses strengthening synergies in digital education and the\ndevelopment of distance learning.<\/p>\n
Representative of PT Telkom Indonesia, Rico Junian, stated that the\nassistance is part of the company\u2019s commitment to supporting the\neducation sector through its corporate social responsibility\nprogrammes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe view UPI as a strategic partner that plays an important role in\nthe world of education. Through this assistance, we hope that the\ncollaboration can continue to grow and provide benefits to society,\u201d he\nremarked.<\/p>\n
Dean of FPIPS UPI, Cecep Darmawan, stated that the operational\nvehicle will be utilised optimally to support both academic activities\nand community service oriented towards sustainable development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis assistance is part of efforts to support improvements in\neducation quality as well as tangible contributions to achieving\nsustainable development goals,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
According to him, FPIPS UPI has been actively developing various\nsustainability programmes, such as the green campus movement,\nstrengthening social ecology, and community empowerment based on\neducation.<\/p>\n
