FPI steamed about nude Adam, Eve<\/p>\n

Actor Anjasmara and model Isabella were reported to the Jakarta
\nPolice on Thursday by an extreme right wing Islamic group for
\nallegedly posing nude in a photograph displayed since Sept. 17 at
\nthe Bank Indonesia Museum in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The Islam Defenders Front (FPI), which apparently is not
\npleased with the artistic photo, also reported photographer Davy
\nLinggar to the police.<\/p>\n
FPI member Jafar Sidik alleged that the three had insulted
\nIslam by portraying Adam and Eve in the nude. Adam is believed to
\nbe a holy prophet by Muslims, which accounts for around 85
\npercent of Indonesia's 220 million people.<\/p>\n
Jafar also said that the pictures were considered
\npornographic, and could contribute to immorality among teenagers
\nwho see the exhibition.<\/p>\n
"The pictures display the classical story of Adam and Eve in
\nEden. How could they depict a prophet in the nude like that," he
\nqueried after filing a complaint at the Jakarta Police
\nheadquarters.<\/p>\n
Jafar stated that "many people had come to them complaining
\nabout the nude pictures", which according to the complaints had
\naroused sexual desires among young people.<\/p>\n
Jafar alleged that the actor, model and photographer had
\nviolated Articles 156 and 282 of the Criminal Code, which carries
\na maximum punishment of five years imprisonment.<\/p>\n
Article 156 stipulates that people who express or do something
\nthat insults a religion in Indonesia can get a maximum punishment
\nof five years, while Article 282 states that people who publicly
\ndisplay pornographic pictures or writing can get a maximum
\nsentence of one and a half years in prison.<\/p>\n
News reports said earlier that Anjasmara had repeatedly asked
\nfor forgiveness from anyone offended by the photo.<\/p>\n
He said that he had no other intention but to create art.<\/p>\n
Anjasmara also denied that the picture were pornographic as
\npeople should look at the whole concept and the beauty of the
\npicture.<\/p>\n
He said that he was not completely naked when the picture was
\ntaken because he was still wearing underwear during the photo
\nsession.<\/p>\n
The FPI has reported several celebrities for various perceived
\nlegal violations over the past few months.<\/p>\n
Music band Dewa was reported to police because FPI thought the
\ngroup had insulted Islam by using Allah's name on the cover of
\nits album. Dewa and FPI agreed to settle the case out of court.<\/p>\n
FPI also reported Miss Indonesia and Miss Transvestite
\nIndonesia because they deemed them to be an insult to Muslims in
\nIndonesia. Those cases are still being investigated.<\/p>",
