        "content": "<p>Four variants on minimum wage set<\/p>\n<p>BEKASI: Unlike his Jakarta counterpart, West Java Governor<br>\nDanny Setiawan has decided to regulate minimum wages for workers<br>\nin Bekasi, Jakarta's neighboring city, according to business<br>\nsectors.<\/p>\n<p>While Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso has set the minimum wage for<br>\nworkers in 2006 at Rp 819,100 for all business sectors here, Dany<br>\nhas grouped business sectors into four categories with different<br>\nminimum wages.<\/p>\n<p>The first category includes automotive, chemical, rubber,<br>\npaper, pharmaceuticals and metal and electronics businesses, with<br>\na minimum salary of Rp 824,026.<\/p>\n<p>The second group -- musical instruments, food, beverages,<br>\nmetal by-products, autoparts, communications, electronics<br>\ncomponents, construction -- carries a salary of Rp 822,073.<\/p>\n<p>The third group -- timber, garments, banking, insurance, hotel<br>\nindustry, export\/import trading, textiles, shoes -- has a minimum<br>\nwage of Rp 820,121.<\/p>\n<p>The last category, which includes small- and medium- scale<br>\nenterprises, has a minimum wage of Rp 781,067. --JP<\/p>",
