        "content": "<p>A patrol by the Serang Police has led to the arrest of four suspected\nthieves specialising in prying open windows to burgle homes in Serang\nand South Tangerang. Officers became suspicious of the four men who were\nriding pillion on two motorcycles. \u201cWhen they were about to be stopped,\nthe perpetrators tried to flee by abandoning the motorcycles they were\nusing. However, thanks to the officers\u2019 alertness, all four were\napprehended,\u201d said Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan on Wednesday\n(24\/6\/2026). The arrested suspects have the initials AN (25), WA (26),\nYI (45), and MA (30). They were detained in the Kibin area, Serang\nRegency, in the early hours of Tuesday (23\/6). At the time, the Criminal\nInvestigation Unit\u2019s Resmob team, led by Aipda Sutrisno, was conducting\na routine patrol. After making the arrests, officers searched the\nsuspects and found a screwdriver used as a tool for their crimes, along\nwith two mobile phones belonging to a recent victim. \u201cFrom the suspects,\nwe seized a screwdriver used to commit the crimes and two stolen mobile\nphones,\u201d Andri stated. The suspects admitted to stealing from a house\nbelonging to Sukmanah in Kibin. They entered the house by prying open a\nwindow with a screwdriver before taking the victim\u2019s valuables. \u201cThe\nperpetrators broke into the victim\u2019s rented house by forcing the window\nopen with a screwdriver. Once inside, they took two mobile phones that\nwere in the house,\u201d Andri explained. Further interrogation revealed that\nthis was not the group\u2019s first theft. They have carried out several\nsimilar operations within the jurisdiction of the Serang Police and in\nseveral locations in the South Tangerang area. \u201cBased on the suspects\u2019\nconfessions, they have committed theft three times within the Serang\nPolice jurisdiction and have also carried out similar crimes in several\nplaces in the South Tangerang area,\u201d he disclosed. Meanwhile, Serang\nPolice Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Andi Kurniady added that two\nof the four suspects, AN and WA, are recidivists in cases involving the\nsame modus operandi. The four suspects and the evidence are currently\nbeing held at the Serang Police headquarters for further investigation.\n\u201cThe Resmob team is continuing to develop the case to uncover the\npossibility of other perpetrators or other locations that have been\ntargeted by the suspects,\u201d Andi said.<\/p>",
