Four more bodies found in Aceh<\/p>\n
BANDA ACEH, Aceh (JP): Four more bodies with severe wounds
\nwere found on Wednesday in separate locations across the troubled
\nprovince of Aceh, according to security officers, a medical
\nsource and an activist.<\/p>\n
An unidentified woman was found in Ujong Mangki village of
\nBakongan district, South Aceh.<\/p>\n
Medical staffer Sukardi of the local hospital said that her
\nbody bore sadistic wounds.<\/p>\n
In the northern part of the province, villagers at Kuala Ulee
\nRubek in Seunuddon district found a human head in a paddy field.<\/p>\n
\"I believe that the victim was murdered three days ago,
\nprobably by GAM,\" North Aceh Police Precinct chief Supt. Abadan
\nBangko said, referring to the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) rebels.<\/p>\n
Separately, North Aceh GAM spokesman Abu Sofyan Daud said he
\nreceived reports from villagers saying that the victim,
\nidentified as 32-year-old Wamar Jalil, had been arrested by
\nmilitary officers last week.<\/p>\n
In East Aceh regency, humanitarian activist Muh. Yusuf
\ndisclosed on Wednesday the discovery of the body of a 40-year-old
\nvillager, Nurdin Yacob, in Paya Deumam village, Simpang Ulim
\ndistrict.<\/p>\n
\"He was arrested by soldiers on Monday and nobody knew what
\nhappened to him or his whereabouts until this morning,\" he said.<\/p>\n
An activist with the Aceh-based National Commission for
\nMissing Person and Victims of Violence, Zulfikar, said he had
\nsent a letter of protest to East Aceh Police Precinct chief Supt.
\nAbdullah Hayati over the illegal arrest of Nurdin Yacob and
\nsubsequent death.<\/p>\n
Separately, a military officer, who refused to be named,
\ndisclosed that there was a gunfight between security officers and
\nGAM rebels on Wednesday in Ujong Sikuneng village, Darul Makmur
\ndistrict in West Aceh regency, leaving one resident, Tengku
\nWahidin, dead.<\/p>\n
In an unrelated development, three days of torrential rain has
\nflooded several public facilities in the capital of Banda Aceh,
\nincluding Zainoel Abidin General Hospital and the Provincial
\nLegislative compound, which has been accommodating at least
\n10,000 refugees.<\/p>\n
The villagers fled their homes last Sunday over fears of more
\ngunfights between security officers and GAM rebels.<\/p>\n
Most of the main streets in the downtown were paralyzed as the
\nwater level reportedly reached 80 centimeters high.<\/p>\n
Head of the local Social Affairs Agency Rusdy Wahid told
\nAntara the natural disaster would force more residents to seek
\nrefuge as there was no indication that the incessant rain would
\nstop.<\/p>\n
A resident of Grung Maneh, North Aceh regency and two others
\nin the neighboring regency of Aceh Besar were reportedly missing
\nin the flood.<\/p>\n
The news agency also reported a mud slide took place in Roh
\nTengah village, South Aceh. However, there has been no immediate
