        "content": "<p>Four men face abduction charges<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (AFP): Two Malaysians were among four men charged<br>\nwith the kidnapping of an Indian businessman in a subordinate<br>\ncourt yesterday, the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (SBC)<br>\nreported.<\/p>\n<p>The two Malaysians were identified as Jacob Packiam and<br>\nSinnasam Marappan.<\/p>\n<p>The other two suspects were Singaporeans, Rajandran Rengasamy<br>\nand Ramaya Ramasamdram. Their ages were not given.<\/p>\n<p>The case will come up for further mention in a week's time.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Tuesday the four were alleged to have kidnapped<br>\nthe businessmen and demanded a ransom of S$50,000 (US$33,000).<\/p>\n<p>The businessman, whose name was not mentioned by SBC, supplied<br>\nIndian workers to local contractors. He was kidnapped about three<br>\ndays ago and kept in a flat.<\/p>\n<p>Police raided the flat and rescued the businessman and<br>\narrested the four who were keeping a watch on him.<\/p>",
