Four injured in Papua plane accident<\/p>\n

A small Twin Otter aircraft belonging to Air Regional Airlines,
\ncrashed on Monday near the Mulia, Puncak Jaya regency, injuring
\nall four on board.<\/p>\n
The plane's pilot, Pingky Firmansyah, copilot Edy Ruslan,
\ntechnician Samudji and passenger Pentilas Telenggen were rescued
\nby another small aircraft belonging to Trigana Airlines, and
\ntaken to a hospital in Timika, Jayawijaya regency.<\/p>\n
The aircraft, flying under flight registration PK-WAR, crashed
\ninto a pineapple plantation near Mulia airport while attempting
\nto land. The plane, which was also carrying 1.6 tons of rice, was
\non its way to Mulia from Wamena.<\/p>\n
According to Jayapura Air Base chief Col. Sunaryo, the plane
\nwas having problems landing at the same time the weather turned
\nrough. Pilot Pingky, an experienced pilot who has flown through
\npoor weather conditions before, continued trying to land the
\nplane, but crashed into the pineapple plantation.<\/p>\n
\"For the time being, according to the report we received from
\nMulia, bad weather is to blame for the crash,\" he said.<\/p>\n
At the end of March, another Twin Otter aircraft belonging to
\nAir Regional Airlines crashed only minutes after taking off from
\nMulia, killing five people on board, including the pilot and
\ncopilot. The aircraft, which was overloaded with 21 passengers,
\nwas flying from Mulia to Wamena.<\/p>\n
Puncak Jaya is a remote regency located 3,500 meters above sea
\nlevel and can only be reached by airplane.<\/p>",
