        "content": "<p>Four governors fail to submit wealth report<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Four out of 30 governors have not yet reported their wealth to<br>\nthe Public Servants&apos; Wealth Audit Commission (KPKPN), the<br>\ngovernment said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes just a week after KPKPN revealed the<br>\nnames of 155 legislators who had not done so.<\/p>\n<p>The four governors are Abdullah Puteh (Aceh), Djoko Munandar<br>\n(Banten), Fadel Muhammad (Gorontalo), and Jaap Salosa (Papua).<\/p>\n<p>&quot;They will be reprimanded,&quot; Minister for Administrative<br>\nReforms Feisal Tamin was quoted as saying by Antara.<\/p>\n<p>He said the four governors had been uncooperative, having been<br>\ntold to submit their wealth reports several times but to no<br>\navail.<\/p>\n<p>Feisal said all state officials received the wealth forms<br>\nabout a year ago and should have completed and returned them by<br>\nnow.<\/p>\n<p>He added that several regents had not returned their wealth<br>\nreports so far either, including those from Bogor, Garut,<br>\nBandung, Lebak, Depok and the Riau Islands.<\/p>\n<p>Sanctions would be imposed if they failed to submit their<br>\nreports within a month from now, Feisal added.<\/p>\n<p>These sanctions could include demotion or a cut in salary as<br>\nwell as delayed promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, KPKPN said that about one-fifth of the<br>\ncountry&apos;s 700-strong legislature at the House of Representatives<br>\n(DPR) and the People&apos;s Consultative Assembly (MPR) had not filed<br>\ntheir wealth report.<\/p>\n<p>It prompted President Megawati Soekarnoputri to urge the 150<br>\nor so legislators to fulfill their obligation. However, some of<br>\nthem said the forms were too complicated and requested more time<br>\nto complete them.<\/p>\n<p>KPKPN was established in 2000 to verify the wealth of state<br>\nofficials and legislators. It was also empowered to investigate<br>\nsuspicious cases and take them to court.<\/p>\n<p>The commission came under the media spotlight following its<br>\nprobe into alleged graft by the three judges who, in June,<br>\ndelivered a controversial bankruptcy verdict against Canadian<br>\nbased insurance firm PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The judges denied any wrongdoing but the Ministry of Justice<br>\nand Human Rights later recommended they be suspended, pending an<br>\ninvestigation by an ethics council.<\/p>",
