As the countdown to Eid 2026 continued, a traffic accident occurred\non the Pantura corridor in Brebes, Central Java. The collision involved\na female resident returning from dawn prayers and a two-wheeled vehicle\ntraveller heading home for the holidays. Both sustained injuries and\nwere transported to the nearest hospital.<\/p>\n
The accident took place on the main road in Brebes town, near the\ntown square, on the morning of Tuesday, 17 March. A motorcyclist with\nJakarta registration plates struck a woman who had just returned from\ndawn prayers at Brebes Grand Mosque.<\/p>\n
Eyewitness Warin, 42, a Brebes resident, recounted that the accident\noccurred as a married couple on their way home for the holidays\ntravelled from Jakarta. At the scene, a woman preparing to cross the\nroad after attending dawn prayers at Brebes Grand Mosque was struck.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, as the motorcycle was travelling near Brebes town square,\nsuddenly a woman still wearing a mukena crossed the road after\nperforming dawn prayers at Brebes Grand Mosque,\u201d Warin explained.<\/p>\n
According to Warin\u2019s account, the motorcyclist was apparently\nstartled by the pedestrian crossing unexpectedly and had no time to\nswerve. The collision was unavoidable, causing three people to fall onto\nthe road.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe motorcycle was heading from west to east, and there was a woman\nin a mukena crossing after dawn prayers. The rider was probably\nstartled, so he hit her directly,\u201d Warin stated.<\/p>\n
As a result of the accident, both the homebound traveller and the\nwoman sustained facial injuries. Residents at the location immediately\nprovided assistance and evacuated the victims.<\/p>\n
Officers at the Eid 2026 security post at Brebes town square,\ntogether with residents, transported the victims by ambulance to Brebes\nDistrict Hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n
The traffic accident during the busy homecoming season temporarily\ndisrupted traffic flow on the Pantura route through Brebes town.\nAuthorities urged both homebound travellers and residents to exercise\ngreater caution when travelling through or crossing the road.<\/p>\n
The government is accelerating road infrastructure improvements along\nthe strategic Pantura corridor and the Trans Java Toll Road to ensure\nsmooth traffic flow during the 2026 Eid homecoming period.
