        "content": "<p>Foundation supports local teachers<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: To help improve the quality of teachers in Indonesia,<br>\nthe GE Foundation is supporting the Foundation for Excellence in<br>\nEducation (FEE) through a two-year, US$100,000 grant to the<br>\nFriends of Jakarta International School, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>The grant will support a school quality improvement program<br>\nfocused on training teachers to utilize the latest research-based<br>\nteaching methods.<\/p>\n<p>SDN 12 Pagi state elementary school in Bendungan Hilir,<br>\nCentral Jakarta, is one of the beneficiaries of the program.<\/p>\n<p>The program is expected to be introduced at eight to 10<br>\nprimary schools in Jakarta, with training for teachers focusing<br>\non the best practices in targeted subjects, such as math,<br>\nlanguages and the sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation raised $52 million last year for community and<br>\neducational programs around the world. -- JP<\/p>",
