Forum to discuss mining<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The ASEAN Federation of Mining Associations, in
\ncooperation with worldwide mining institutions, plans to hold the
\n4th Asia Pacific mining conference and exhibition at the Jakarta
\nHilton Convention Center here from Oct. 26 to Oct. 29.<\/p>\n
The federation's secretariat here reported yesterday that the
\nforum, to carry the theme "World Mining Challenges to the Next
\nCentury," is expected to help promote mining development in Asia
\nand the Pacific as well as to initiate various business meetings
\nfor all parties involved in the industry.<\/p>\n
The conference will discuss mineral policies, mining
\ntechnology, coal and mineral development, mineral processing,
\ntaxation and investment, mining regulation and environment
\nissues.<\/p>\n
During the four-day conference, the forum will also display a
\nmajor exhibition of mining equipment and technology from Canada,
\nAustralia, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, the United States,
