        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The advisor of the Indonesian Tempe Forum, Aman\nWirakartubusumah, has recommended that tempe should not merely remain a\ncultural staple but should also become a future innovation through its\ninherent benefits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI propose that within the concept, Tempe 1.0 is cultural heritage,\nTempe 2.0 is healthy food, and Tempe 3.0 is a platform for future\ninnovation, where tempe serves as functional ingredients, health food,\nnutrition, a healthy aging tool, and personalised nutrition,\u201d Aman\nstated during the National Tempe Day celebrations held in Jakarta on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He added that in the effort to protect tempe, which is currently\nbeing proposed as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, documentation\nand community empowerment are required. His organisation, alongside the\nMinistry of Culture, continues to push for tempe\u2019s recognition as a\nnational cultural heritage to be approved by UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p>The Rector of IPMI Institute and senior scientist at the SEAFAST\nCenter IPB added that tempe has been developing since the 18th century\nand has served as a medium for spreading knowledge, cultural values, and\nphilosophy.<\/p>\n<p>Originating from the island of Java, tempe can also serve as a medium\nfor culture-based diplomacy, carrying deep philosophical and scientific\nvalue.<\/p>\n<p>In his presentation, he noted that tempe is already accepted in\nseveral countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, the United\nKingdom, the United States, Australia, and Japan, which serve as market\nbases for plant-based food products.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, tempe is known to be a high-quality source of protein\nand contains varied fibres, making it a fermented product that is\nbeneficial to the body.<\/p>\n<p>From an economic perspective, tempe is a frequent topic of discussion\non the global stage, presenting significant potential for national\neconomic development.<\/p>",
