        "content": "<p>Bengkulu City (ANTARA) - The prosecutor from the Bengkulu High\nProsecutor\u2019s Office demanded an eight-year prison sentence for Samsu\nBahari, the former Director of PDAM Tirta Hidayah, along with a fine of\nRp200 million subsidiary to 80 days\u2019 imprisonment and repayment of\nRp11.6 billion subsidiary to five years\u2019 imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant is given one month to pay the restitution of Rp11.6\nbillion. If not paid, his assets will be confiscated,\u201d said the\nprosecutor, also Head of the Prosecution Section at the Bengkulu High\nProsecutor\u2019s Office, Arif Wirawan, at the Bengkulu Corruption Court on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Samsu Bahari, along with two other defendants, is being prosecuted in\nthe case of alleged corruption involving the transfer and management of\ndaily casual workers (PHL) at PDAM Tirta Hidayah in Bengkulu City.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Eki Hermanto, Head of the Water Meter Replacement\nSubsection at PDAM and intermediary for PHL recruitment, is demanded a\nseven-year prison sentence, a fine of Rp200 million subsidiary to 80\ndays, and restitution of Rp1.18 billion subsidiary to three years and\nsix months.<\/p>\n<p>Arif stated that aggravating factors for the defendants include their\nactions not supporting the government\u2019s anti-corruption programme,\nhindering regional development, causing harm to others, and not\nadmitting their actions.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, investigators from the Bengkulu High Prosecutor\u2019s Office\nreceived the transfer of three suspects along with evidence in the case,\nincluding two vehicles, land certificates, documents, and Rp343.5\nmillion in cash as part of the state losses.<\/p>\n<p>The three defendants are alleged to have received bribes and\ngratuities from 117 daily casual workers. Subsequently, the board of\nPerumda Tirta Hidayah issued Assignment Orders (SPT) to appoint those\n117 individuals as daily casual workers.<\/p>",
