        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - CEO of Amartha and former Special Staff to the\n7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Andi Taufan\nGaruda Putra, appeared as a character witness for the former technology\nconsultant Ibrahim Arief in the trial of the alleged corruption case\nregarding the procurement of Chromebook-based laptops.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrother, you were also a special staff member; were you a special\nstaff or what during Mr Jokowi\u2019s time?\u201d asked the Chief Judge of the\nPanel, Purwanto S Abdullah, during the trial at the Jakarta Corruption\nCourt on Tuesday (7\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, it was in 2019-2020,\u201d Andi replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I know is that (Ibrahim) was the IT consultant for system\ndevelopment as mentioned earlier,\u201d said Andi.<\/p>\n<p>Andi admitted that he was unaware of Ibrahim\u2019s activities while\nserving as a consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture,\nespecially those related to the charges by the Public Prosecutor\n(JPU).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo clarify from the witness, regarding the matters accused or\ncharged against Mr Ibrahim, you have no knowledge of them, right?\u201d asked\nJudge Purwanto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo knowledge,\u201d Andi replied.<\/p>\n<p>At that time, Andi offered the position of Chief Technology Officer\n(CTO) to Ibrahim with a net salary of around Rp 200 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe discussed it; I offered him to join Amartha with the package,\nwhat the compensation would be like, how much the salary, the take-home\npay he would receive,\u201d said Andi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom a gross of around Rp 280 million, perhaps the net is around Rp\n200 million,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>These shares could only be sold if Ibrahim had worked at Amartha for\nmore than four years.<\/p>\n<p>However, this offer was not taken because Ibrahim chose to focus on\nthe ongoing project at the ministry led by Nadiem Makarim at that\ntime.<\/p>",
